Advanced Respiratory and Critical Care
Neonatal care is a specialized field that ensures the health and well-being of newborns, particularly those born prematurely or with medical complications. In our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), we provide advanced respiratory support, including High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFO), Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), and Heated Humidified High Flow Nasal Cannula (HHHFNC), to stabilize newborns with breathing difficulties. For infants with oxygen deprivation during birth, Therapeutic Hypothermia is administered to protect brain function. Babies requiring extra care are placed in neonatal incubators to maintain optimal conditions of temperature and humidity, fostering growth and recovery. Nutritional support is provided through Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), ensuring adequate growth in the absence of oral feeding.
Diagnostic Tools and Preventive Care
Our NICU is equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic tools to monitor and detect potential issues in newborns. Transcutaneous Bilirubinometry allows non-invasive monitoring of bilirubin levels to detect jaundice early, with phototherapy or exchange transfusions offered for treatment if necessary. We also perform bedside ultrasonography (USG) and echocardiography (ECHO) to monitor vital organs like the brain and heart, ensuring no complications go unnoticed. For high-risk infants, ROP (Retinopathy of Prematurity) screening is conducted to prevent vision loss, while hearing screenings using OAE (Otoacoustic Emissions) and BERA (Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry) detect early hearing issues. These screenings and diagnostics enable timely intervention and improved outcomes.
Long-Term Development and Family Support
Beyond immediate care, our team emphasizes early intervention and neurodevelopmental follow-up for high-risk newborns. Regular check-ups help track developmental milestones in areas such as motor skills, speech, and social behavior, with appropriate therapies provided for any delays. Parents are actively involved in their baby’s care and are educated on how to stimulate development at home. This family-centered approach ensures ongoing support even after hospital discharge, empowering families to play a vital role in their child’s growth. Through a combination of advanced medical interventions and family education, we give every newborn the best chance for a healthy, thriving future.
